Congressional Black Caucus Statement on the Passage of the House Anti-Hate Resolution Condemning White Supremacy, Anti-Semitism, and Islamophobia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Congressional Black Caucus released the following statement on the passage of the House Anti- Hate Resolution, which condemns white supremacy, Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia as contrary to the values of the United States.

“The Congressional Black Caucus condemns all forms of white supremacy, Anti- Semitism and Islamophobia in the strongest terms possible,” said Congresswoman Karen Bass, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. “What started as an issue that could have sowed further division among the country has instead united everyone around our shared values – condemning all forms of bigoty and hatred. The Black Caucus stands firmly against all expressions of hate and is concerned by the recent uptick in hateful rhetoric and crimes targeting minority communities.  It is unfortunate that the President of the United States has shown a complete lack of leadership on these issues. Our Caucus remains committed to building a more perfect union by engaging in constructive dialogue that affirms America as a nation welcoming to all.”
