Since its establishment in 1971, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has been committed to using the full Constitutional power, statutory authority, and financial resources of the federal government to ensure that African Americans and other marginalized communities in the United States have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.
Today, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Steven Horsford (NV-04) and members of the Congressional Black Caucus issued the following statement regarding the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Gaza:
“Our thoughts continue to be with the families of the thousands of innocent civilians who have been killed since October 7, as well as those who have been displaced and are currently living in fear in the Middle East. We also continue to stand firm behind Israel’s right to self-defense against the brutal attacks by Hamas terrorists.
“It is imperative that action be taken now on the worsening humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. This conflict has left millions of people in Gaza without access to water, food, medicine and other critical resources. We cannot lose sight of the fact that there are millions of innocent Palestinians who are not responsible for the brutal attacks and atrocities of Hamas terrorists.
“The Congressional Black Caucus supports President Biden's call for the United Nations and governments in Israel, Egypt and surrounding Arab nations to provide immediate humanitarian relief to those impacted by this war.”
