Congressional Black Caucus Statement on Adoption of Senate Budget Framework

Today, Congressional Black Caucus Chair Yvette D. Clarke (NY-09) and members of the Congressional Black Caucus issued the following statement:

“President Trump and House Republicans promised to lower the cost of living for hard working American families. Instead, Republicans voted to pass a budget resolution to make the largest cut to Medicaid in history, and cut billions from SNAP, which feeds 1 in 5 children in our country. Nearly a trillion dollars in cuts to these programs will have disproportionate impacts on Black families who are simply trying to get by. At a time when the cost of living is going up, Republicans have shown us time and again their only real concern is handing a tax break to big corporations and billionaires like Elon Musk.”
