U.S. Rep. Fudge to lead Labor Day parade

by News-Herald

U.S. Rep. Marcia L. Fudge will serve as the grand marshal for the 11th Congressional District Community Caucus Labor Day parade.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. Sept. 2 at the intersection of East 146th Street and Kinsman Avenue in Cleveland.

It will end at Luke Easter Park where parade participants will be able to gather at the pavilion area for a meet-and-greet event.

Along with Fudge, D-Warrensville Heights, who represents the district in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington D.C., other dignitaries include former U.S. Rep. Louis Stokes and Barbara Tubbs Walker who will serve as the event's honorary chair and chairwoman, respectively.

The parade will be conducted for the 42nd year and is designed to celebrate community and political empowerment and a way to conclude the summer in style.

Thirty-two communities in Cuyahoga and Summit counties are included in the 11th Congressional District and among them are Euclid, Richmond Heights and South Euclid.

Organizers encourage and invite everyone in the 11th Congressional District to attend the parade.
